Bodies
have been found and identified......Jury Trial is set.. Investigators looking into the disappearance of Laci and her baby were called in Monday after two bodies, one a newborn boy found Sunday and the other a headless woman were found on Monday. The two bodies were found about 1 mile apart just north of the Richmond marina at Point Isabel Regional Shoreline. This is in the general area that police had been searching in previous attempts. Authorities have said that the the baby's umbilical cord was still attached, and it appeared to have been dead for some time. April 16th, 2003- Investigators say that it will take days or even weeks to determine whether the body of a woman found on the shoreline of San Francisco Bay is that of Laci Peterson. A forensic pathologist examined the woman's body on Monday and Contra Costa officials have contacted an expert who studies how water affects corpses to determine roughly how long the bodies were in the water. Ron Grantski, Lai Peterson's stepfather, told the San Francisco Chronicle that family members were going through a range of emotions. "You want it to be (her body that was found), you don't want it to be, " Grantski said. "We gotta have closure, but this isn't the closure we want." April 18th, 2003- Police announce that the bodies found were those of Laci and Connor. Scott Peterson has been arrested..... August 29th, 2003- Laci and Conner were finally laid to rest in a private ceremony in Escalon. 2 Doves were released to symbolize Laci and Conner and then 20 more, symbolizing angels, followed them to heaven. October 29th, 2003- The preliminary hearings are set to begin in the case against Scott Peterson. November 19th, 2003- Scott Peterson will be held to stand trial for murder. December 4th, 2003- Jury trial date set for January 26th, 2004. June 1st, 2004- Jury trial begins. November 12th, 2004- Verdict is reached
