MODESTO, CA -- The Modesto A’s and Sacramento RiverCats baseball teams will hold an exhibition
game on April 1, 2003 in Modesto to benefit the Sund-Carrington Memorial Reward Foundation, the club announced today.
All funds generated from ticket sales to the game will be donated to the Foundation, which has played an important
role in the public awareness of the disappearance of Modesto’s Laci Peterson.
Tickets for the exhibition game will be available to the public beginning today through the Modesto A’s Ticket
Office at (209)
572-HITS.
Tickets are available for $6 and seating for the game will be determined on a first-come, first-served basis.
"The Modesto A’s are hoping for the safe return of Laci Peterson," said Modesto A’s General Manager Greg
Coleman. "The entire Modesto community has shown tremendous support over the past three weeks and we anticipate
the community and business leaders to support this exhibition game and raise funds for this great organization."
The Modesto A’s partnered with the Sund-Carrington Foundation and Wings
of Protection,
a support group created in September 2001 by Susan Levy and Donna Raley to assist family and friends of missing
persons. The A’s raised over $5,500 for the two groups via a jersey auction during the game.
The Carole Sund/Carrington Memorial Reward Foundation was created by Francis and Carole Carrington after the
death of their daughter, granddaughter and family friend in the spring of 1999. The organization’s mission is "to provide resources
to families without economic means to offer rewards for information to help law enforcement officials locate missing
loved ones and to bring violent crimes to justice. Additionally, the foundation is determined to raise public awareness
surrounding the problem of missing persons and violent crime in this country."
